Taking the Kids to the Natick Community Organic Farm, a MetroWest Treasure
March is Maple Sugaring Month at the NCOF!
The Farm (NCOF) in South Natick, is a non-profit, certified organic farm providing open space, farm products, and hands-on education for all ages. It offers farm products including meat, eggs, yarn, maple syrup, produce, flowers, seedlings and honey in season. Livestock and staff are friendly and the farm gate is open dawn to dusk, year round. (During a recent visit my five-year-old daughter scooped up a passing chicken for a cuddle, then patted a gigantic sow which was snoozing behind a fence!)
Throughout the month of March, there are programs for families including “How Sweet to Sip Sap with Your Child” and “”A Farmer’s Morning.” After feeding and watering the animals, attendees can collect fresh eggs for breakfast and head inside for a hearty farm breakfast.
