If your house is over-run by once beloved stuffed animals, the WMS Community Service Organization is collecting them to send to orphans in Iraq and the U.S. This is a great opportunity to purge and make room for recent holiday adoptions. Now through Friday, January 11th, drop gently used critters in the main office in the Middle School. For those not familiar with the school, enter the middle
doors on Kingsbury, the office is on the left.

The doorbell rings on a crisp fall night and yet when the door is opened no one is there. Resting on the front stoop are chocolatey treats and small gifts to the delight of young children. Look even closer and you will see a note with a ghost at the top and a short poem. You my friend have been GHOSTED!
Since moving to Wellesley I have learned being Ghosted is something children all over look forward to as we head towards Halloween. In some areas, they call this tradition “being Boo’ed.”
My children giggle with delight at the thought that a mystery delivery goblin left them treats. They enjoyed the second part of the process even more. The poem asks that you now GHOST two friends, and that’s just what we did. Before bedtime Anna, Alexandra and I packed into the car with our handpicked treats and drove to Ryan and Julia’s house– my girls rang the doorbell, but they were caught red handed. Ryan’s Mom spotted them in the window and as a result was hand delivered the package. In the end things were just fine, Ryan had wanted to post a GHOST on his front door. We took care of that bringing a smile to his face. I am sure today at school Ryan proudly told his friends, he had been GHOSTED!!!
Does anyone know how this tradition started?
