You’ve made the decision to sell, now it’s time to prepare your home for public viewing. Pinnacle Residential Properties has created this basic list, which is bound to improve the showing of your home.
Exterior:
Summer:
Keep the lawn trimmed and edged
Trim shrubs and eliminate dead trees and branches
Keep the yard free of debris
Confine toys to the back yard
Clean downspouts and gutters
Replace any broken windows
Keep the front entrance partiulcarly clean, well swept and add a colorful pot
of flowers
Winter:
Keep the walkways well shoveled and sanded
Keep the driveway well plowed
Be sure that all exterior light fixtures are in good working order
Interior:
Walls should be clean and free of smudges and fingerprints
Bathrooms should be scrubbed, mildewed surfaces bleached, and the tub
recaulked, if needed
Wash windows inside and out
Shampoo soiled wall-to-wall carpeting. If the capet is badly worn, your
Pinnacle Realtor may suggest removing or replacing it.
Repair loose doorknobs
Install high wattage light bulbs in all fixtures
Clean out the closets
Clean and organize the clutter (countertops, basement, garage, etc.)
Leave draperies open and shades up for maximum light

The Wellesley Chamber of Commerce honored Pinnacle Residential Properties with the Chamber Leadership Award for its continued support of chamber events. Chamber chairman and master of ceremonies John McConchie stated “The plain and simple fact is that when it comes to the chamber’s needs, Pinnacle always shows up.” Owner/Broker Elaine Bannigan received the award and recognized her team: “It’s been a blessing to work with the most incredible group of people.” Thanks, Elaine!
Other honorees included Potpourri Designs as Retailer of the Year (my favorite Wellesley boutique), Wellesley College for the Community Service Award, and Hoffman Insurance Services Inc. as Professional of the Year. North Hill, an assisted living facility in Needham, was honored as Outstanding New Member and Newton Wellesley Hospital was recognized as Business of the Year.

Anecdotal evidence is often reported indicating that the Boomer generation will be heading back to the cities in large numbers. The Suburban Idyll report by Joel Kotin in the Wall Street Journal indicates that the reality is very different.

Jane got her B.A. at Holy Cross. Her professional background includes many years in sales and marketing. In addition to being a broker, she and her her husband have their own residential real estate development company in Wellesley and especially enjoy renovating older and antique homes.
