Four Tips for Choosing a Home With Your Children in Mind
Pick Floor Plans and Features That Grow With Your Family
A recent posting on Cyberhomes.com provides practical tips on choosing a home that suits your family’s lifestyle. It cites the following four key features to consider when evaluating homes for purchase:
1. Flexibility: Look for flexible or movable floor plans that can be used for multiple purposes and change as your children age.
2. Sensible Floor Plan: new construction of larger homes frequently includes a first floor master. However, some families prefer that their master be on the second floor, especially when children are young.
3. Room to Grow: Perhaps you can’t afford your ideal home right away. Choose a home that lends itself to an addition. For more tips on what to consider when adding on, click here.
4. Storage: Make sure your home has room for storage, either in the basement, attic, or a spot to customize shelving. Kids come with stuff, lots of stuff!
