Lovelane Farm Hosted Horseshow in Lincoln, MA

The Horseshow at Lovelane Farm in Lincoln allows special needs children to show us what they've got!

Saturday October 20, 2007 was one of my favorite days of the year. It was Lovelane Farm’s Horseshow in Lincoln, Massachusetts. Lovelane is a place where special needs children ride horses year round and then demonstrate for their friends and families what they have learned during the horseshow.

My daughter Alexandra rode in the show and, if I say so myself, she shined! Always the entertainer, Alexandra was thrilled to perform in front of the crowd of a hundred people or so. She road her horse Daisy with a big smile on her face, a straight back, with the reigns in her hand. Quite a difference from last year when her weak back muscles could barely hold her up. We were of course so proud. Alexandra was not the only star; there were Delaney and Mira, two adorable girls with Cerebral Palsey who also rode in the show with giant smiles plastered on their faces. The list goes on of true heroes who have to over come their disabilities daily, but yes can ride a horse. Lovelane Special Needs Horseback Riding is a true haven for children with disabilities and their families, because it allows these kids to be elite athletes–at least for one day!
