When is a team not a team?
Answer: When a real estate company operates under Designated agency rules.
Massachusetts law has recently changed so that Real Estate
Companies can elect to represent their sellers under the new
Disclosure law known as Designated Agency. Unlike the recent
Past when all real estate companies operated as seller’s agents and
all agents in that company were bound to act in the best interest of
the seller, designated agency limits fiduciary responsibility to
selected agents. Other agents within that organization represent
buyers and have no obligation to you.
If you want a team to represent your property use companies that
Offer Seller’s agency and not Designated agency.
