Weston, MA's Land's Sake Earth Day Extravaganza is a Huge Success

Land’s Sake in Weston, MA is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to the preservation and responsible use of suburban open space.  Through ecologically sound land management and hands-on environmental education, this town treasure provides an effective model of how public open space can be used and enjoyed by all.

On Earth Day, Sunday, April 22, Land’s Sake offered a number of projects for community involvement.  Projects included:  Renovating the perennial garden, moving piles of rocks, removing invasive plants, fixing farm lanes, cleaning up trash on town trails and planting trees at the farm.  The turn out was better than expected.  Everyone convened at Land’s Sake at 10am.  The farm, which is located on School street in Weston, MA across from Field School was filled with community members eager to get to work.  Overall, the day was a huge success.

Part of the mission of Land’s Sake is to offer education programs for schools, scouts and home school groups.  The programs support the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.  For more information please contact the Education Coordinator Mary Spaulding at 781-893-1162 or at greenpower@landsake.org.
