Home Renovation Diary of a Wellesley MA Builder, Chapter Two
Follow the Renovation/Addition of a 4,000 sq. ft. Home in Wellesley, MA
December, 2006 and January, 2007: Our next plan of action was to continue meeting with the neighbors and share with them the detailed blueprints, dicuss possible fences between properties, as well as landscaping. The large tree in the back yard was removed. Also, we try to keep the neighbors apprised about the construction schedule so they know when to expect bulldozers and related noise.
FRONT VIEW
Two of the abutting homes are for sale and one owner wanted to share the cost of a fence which was quickly installed between our properties. We were able to have it installed right away by Reliable Fence of Ashland, MA due to the mild winter.
We continued collecting bids from subcontractors, doing demo work. Framing is scheduled to begin February 1.

Once the architectural plans were finalized, we applied for building permits from the town of Wellesley. For this project, we did not require any special permits so the process was straightforward and quick.
WHAT’S NEXT: Stay tuned for framing!
